Introducing BrightCider: Our Newest Addition

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our newest product, BrightCider! For many years we’ve spoken about creating a cider to sit alongside our beer and lager range. 2023 was the year that we finally made time to do it!

Crafted using traditional techniques and modern technology, BrightCider is a medium sweet cider which is gently sparkling and bursting with fresh, ripe, Devon apple character. Unhurried processing on the farm encompasses plenty of time for maturation, coaxing more layers of complexity from the cider, which gives a greater depth of flavour and beautiful balance. It’s tantalisingly juicy and mouth-watering on the first sip, and has gentle tannins to the finish, leaving a long-lingering refreshing apple flavour.

Unusually for many brands in Devon, this cider is made with juice pressed from apples grown entirely in our partner farmer’s own orchard. This means he has 100% control over how they are cultivated, picked, and processed. There have been orchards on this site since before the 1800s, and incredibly, some trees from that century still survive! Apples grown here include both dessert and cider varieties, those local to Devon and some from beyond, all of which contribute to the delicious BrightCider blend he has created for us. It’s not necessary to add more sulphites to the cider as they are already present in the pressed apple juices, it’s naturally gluten free, and is suitable for vegetarians.

Want To Try Our Cider?

BrightCider will initially be available in our 5L mini kegs which can be purchased either online for local delivery or direct from the brewery shop but we will be bringing it to 500ml bottles in the very near future.

We are so happy to see the fruits of our labour and are proud to offer this cider as the perfect addition to our range of high-quality beers.

Whether you are looking for a refreshing drink on a hot summer day, or a crisp and light accompaniment to your favourite meal, BrightCider is sure to delight your taste buds.

We’re launching BrightCider just in time for the Easter Bank Holiday, and with the weather looking pleasant, there’s no better time to sit in the garden with a cold pint of cider.
